October Events!

Hello all,

We hope midterms are going well for you. The Health Policy Student Association’s various committees have been hard at work to plan professional and interactive events for the month of October. Please join us for one – or all – of them!

This Friday, October 17th: HPSA monthly Social Gathering at Mission (1606 20th St. NW) at 6:00pm.
Bring your friends and meet us at the loft on the top floor!
This event is open to all Milken Institute SPH students.

Monday, October 20th: Two Professional Workshops at 6th Floor Conference Room at 5-6 and 6-7pm
HPSA Professional Events Committee is hosting two workshops in the 6th floor conference room at the Milken Institute School of Public Health Building.  Both events are open to all Milken Institute SPH students.

  • Salary Negotiation Workshop 5:00-6:00pm
    Led by: Dr. Paula Lantz and Dr. Pierre Vigilance
  • Resume Building Workshop 6:00-7:00pm
    Led by: Dr. Pierre Vigilance and Dr. Marsha Regenstein
    Note: If attending the Resume Building Workshop, please bring at least 2 copies of your most current resume to the session.

Tuesday, October 28th: Southby Lecture in Global Health Policy at 7th Floor at 11:30am-1:00pm
The annual Southby Lecture in Global Health Policy will be held on the 7th floor of the new Milken Institute School of Public Health building (lunch will be served).

Distinguished Speaker: Dr. Armin Fidler, Advisor for Health Policy and Strategy at the World Bank

Topic: “Health System Challenges in OECD Countries.”  To register, please click here

As a reminder, HPSA hosts meetings every first Tuesday of every month at 8:00pm in Room 300B of the Milken Institute School of Public Health building. The next meeting will be November 4th.
